After 6 years as a journalist, Emily made the move to full-time work in the mental health sector. She has consulted for a range of organisations including Mind and Samaritans. She has also worked with Wish, a user-led mental health charity for women, and the Violence, Abuse and Mental Health Network at King's College London.
Emily is a trustee of the user-led mental health charity National Survivor User Network (NSUN) and Disability Action Haringey. She has particular expertise in co-production and user involvement.
Emily says:
"I am passionate about user-led and community-led organisations. I use my lived experience by drawing on assets and strengths . These are not only from my own experiences, but from a wider community of service users/survivors. We work together in a non-hierarchical way to amplify the voices of all disabled people."
